ADMISSION PROCESS
YEAR 1 to YEAR 11
 

I. Application Requirements
The interested parents must send all of the requested documentation to the  school Admission department, taking into account the time for the application.
Before any evaluation or family interview, it is of the utmost importance that all the documentation has been presented to the Admissions office. No evaluation
will be considered without these documents.

Applications are for Year 1 to Year 11.

New parents must complete the inscription form Naranja

For parents already part of the Lirima Community who wish to postulate another child, the postulation is done on line via Schoolnet.

II. Postulation Time.
August 16th to Septemberr 27th. If there are any vacancies after these dates, a new evaluation will be scheduled. The families applying from Iquique must attend an Open House which takes place at the establishment on September 2nd.

Admission Requirements
Year 1: 6 years old by March 31st 2018.
No postulation will be accepted if the child does not have the required age.

 

Documentation
- Original birth certificate.
- Photocopy of the parents and child´s identity card.
- 2 Passport photos including a name.
- Report from the nursery school (Year1)
- School certificate of the last 2 years.
- Personality and conduct report of the last 2 years.
- Specialist reports if the child has seen a child psychologist, psychologist, psychiatrist, neurologist or speech therapist in the last 2 years.
- Inscription fee in Iquique; $28.000 (twenty-eight thousand pesos) and $38.000 (thirty-eight thousand pesos) in Santiago. Payment is done at school or by an electronic transfer in Naranja, once the documentation has been checked and approved by the admission staff.

 

Process Stages
1.- Complete the pre inscription form; at the end of the form you will be assigned a code the will need to be presented at the Open House. it is important that all of the documents listed above have been left with the school secretary before the Admission Testing Day (september 30th).
2.- Applicants from Iquique: Must attend an Open House. Applicants outside Iquique will receive a link to view the virtual school tour.
3.- Participate in the Admission Testing Day, the 30th of September.
4.- Parents interview

III. Evaluation Process Year 1  
1. The applicant takes a test that evaluates their cognitive abilities and child psychology basis for learning Maths and Spanish. This evaluation takes approximately 1 hour. 

Evaluation Process Year 2 to Year 11 

All applicants must take admission tests in English, Maths and Spanish as well as have a personal interview. The parents of the applicant, who meets the admission requirements of the school, must attend a personal interview, of which the time and date will be informed in ample time. The allocated date is the only one, so if there is any reason that you are unable to attend, you must notify the school. A nonappearance without notification will be seen as a cessation of the postulation process. Parents who have children in Lirima are not interviewed. (a)

IV. Selection Process of Applicants.
The applicants who obtain an 80% pass in the evaluation process and have other siblings applying for other levels, children of ex-students, children of workers in the school, foreign students or students who are returning to school, may apply for the vacancies in each level.

Results
The parents of applicants will be notified by e-mail on October 23rd.

Waiting List
There is a list of applicants who have attained the 5 highest points in the admission test, so that the parents can be interviewed if a vacancy occurs.

Enrolment V.
Parents have 10 working days to enroll their child after they have been notified of their acceptance.

VI. Number of Vacancies.
The possibility of a vacancy depends on children being withdrawn or vacancies occurring during the year. The school reserves the right to choose the applicants based on their previous academic results and the results of the admission test.

VII. Application for Enrolment in Year 12.
The school does not accept applications for students in Year 12 unless it is a student who is returning from overseas or someone who has siblings in lower classes that have been accepted, so as not to separate them.

Admission Requirements
Personality and a behavioral report 2016 and 2017.
Letter of recommendation of the family from the head of the student’s previous school.
Original School Certificates for the years 2015-2016-2017.
Preview of the grades of the 1st and 2nd term 2017.
Take admission tests for Spanish, Math, English and have a personal interview. The applicant must obtain above an 80% pass rate in the admission process.
Parents interview.
Inscription fee is $28.000 (twenty-eight thousand pesos) or $38.000 (thirty-eight thousand pesos) in Santiago. Payment is done at school or by an electronic transfer in WEBPAY PORTAL DE PAGOS 

VIII Admission Process in Santiago

The applicants in Santiago and its surroundings who wish to take the test in Santiago, must complete the inscription form, and on the 14th of October. Access the virtual school tour through the link that will be sent.

Subsequently you must send the academic documents and family history by email to admisión@lirima.cl, or send by registered mail to Av. La Tirana 4650, Iquique.  

The evaluation and interview dates have been programmed for October 14th.  
The allocated times and contacts will be notified via email.

IX. Overseas Applications

The overseas applications, received throughout the year, must send an email to admisión@lirima.cl

Documents Needed.
- Applicants birth certificate. (spanish-english)
- Applicants photo.
- Present academic year report. (spanish-english).
- The student will be evaluated by the same conditions as the other applicants in whichever level and their acceptance will depend on a vacancy and the results obtained in the admission test.

 
Legalization of academic documents.
All applicants studying overseas, Chilean or otherwise, must legalize their academic documents at the Chilean Consulate of the country they have studied in as well as the Ministry of External Affairs and the Chilean Ministry of Education.

The process is in two stages, firstly in the country of residence and secondly in Chile:

In the country of residence:
Legalize the school certificates of the student in the Ministry of Education where the student has studied (or similar competent authority), in the Ministry of External Affairs (or competent authority) and in the Chilean Consulate of the country concerned.

 

In Chile:
Legalize the documents in the Legalization Department in the Chilean Ministry of External Affairs, Agustinas 1320, Santiago (Open 9:00 to 13:20 hours).
Present the documentation (already legalized) to the Ministry of Education Unit for Exams and Private Schools in Fray Camilo Henríquez Nº 262 in Santiago (Open 9:00 to 14:00 hours), to ask for validation of the studies.
Outside Santiago, you must go to the nearest Provincial Education Department or to the Regional Secretary of the Ministry of Education, who will send all of the documentation to Santiago.

Required Documentation:
Birth certificate (must be legalized for foreign students)
School certificates (must be legalized).
Time Allowance:
Within the space of 3 months (maximum), the Exam Department will issue a study recognition certificate that will enable the student to enroll permanently.

Recognition and validation of junior and senior overseas studies at; http://www.chileclic.gob.cl

X. Open House
This event is an obligatory part of the admission process for the applicants from Iquique. Its principal objective is to invite future students and their families to know our school. You will have the opportunity to walk around the establishment, have a complete view of the School Education Project and know the diverse activities that Lirima offers to its students, such as the expectations and demands of the school.
Open House is on Saturday September 2nd.
